One hundred internet dollars says that Windows Phone ends up slowly disappearing the way that Windows Mobile and Zune did.
I think the only questions is “Will Nokia give up on Microsoft exclusivity to stay in business, or stick with their current plan and go down with Windows Phone?”. I really hope Nokia outlasts Windows Phone, they make some awesome hardware.
This is what I consider ideal, and is how I use OSX, Linux Mint, and Windows 7 as well as XP with launchy:
Step 1: Boot computer
Step 2: press hotkey and type name of thing
Step 3: select thing from a 2.5″×5″ list of results
Step 4: continue computing without being bothered by a fullscreen launcher.

Remember about two years ago when Apple was rumoring around about merging iOS and OSX? I have a theory that they knew this was a terrible idea but let the rumors fly, knowing that MS would “try to beat Apple to their own idea”.
Now that this has blown up in MS’s face, the crews over at Apple are just sitting back and enjoying the schadenfreude.
