I think you would need to be far more “socially underdeveloped” to get your panties in a knot over one little word than you would be to get a chuckle out of the silly joke that it is. Being able to show a bit of silly humour is a great thing, and I am far more likely to take note of what’s being said by someone who displays some humanity than if they were a politically/grammatically correct robot.
Sure they could have gone with any number of poop related puns or jokes, I wont disagree about that, but I personally like the shorter “No Shit” as its out of the way quicker so people see the more important “can fecal transplants save 14,000 lives a year?” bit – which is the part that got me interested enough to read through the article.
