Like every superhero movie since The Dark Knight, it was merely ‘ok’, succumbing to “the third act is just Transformers problem” and “how come there is never any sense of civilian fatality when major cities are reduced to dust.”
I found the casting pretty spot on (especially Antje Traue as Faora; it was refreshing to see a pure female badass who could dominate the screen in a summer blockbuster) but, like The Dark Knight Rises it disappeared up itself a little.
As for Superman killing Zod I thought it was a great move; having established the tragedy of Zod being bred purely to protect Krypton/Kryptonians at all cost, and Kal-el being sent to become Earth’s saviour, it was the only way to end and it was handled well.
Also, I hope everyone spotted the Wayne Enterprises satellite during the climax for extra points.

Apple’s stock wallpaper really isn’t doing iOS 7 any favours. These more personalised home screens make it look far better.

It’s pretty clear that Paul was distracted by the Harmonix guy’s extravagant facial hair, which no doubt warped his mind and prevented him from fully focusing on the game.

So can you see this being updated over time so there is feature parity across platforms or will iOS always be a few steps behind to drive people to Windows?

I used Pages on my iPad to write all my University essays this year and had no problems; easy to insert footnotes etc. and exports to Word with no problems.

Tom, maybe you can shed some light on this but, will there ever be a point where it’s more detrimental overall for Microsoft not to have a full Office client on iOS? Do the marketing advantages of keeping it Windows 8/RT outweigh the customer potential?

As an iPhone user I’ve liked the look of pretty much every every Windows Phone from Nokia and HTC over the past year.
Any problems with Windows Phone are now confined solely to the software, i.e apps. If they can even get new releases to within a couple of weeks of the other platforms it would become a serious option.

Hasn’t Apple’s stock slid because “analysts” expect a brand new category of device every 4 months with an affordable price but sky-high margins?

Without a doubt there’s interesting potential with the new Kinect; I just don’t think it’s an extra £80/$100 of potential.

I’ve pre-ordered the PS4; I’ll probably end up getting the Xbox One as well, but not until the mid-gen refresh/price-cut.
However at the minute it’s a case of price, my lack of excitement around motion-gaming, I prefer Sony’s first party titles and I think they may be greater equipped for the future with Gaikai.

To capitalise on it fully though I think it should go unnoticed, notsomuch in party games but in ‘core’ games. There’s nothing worse than a mandatory, bolted on motion sequence to ruin momentum i.e anything that you had to use the Sixaxis for on PS3

That’s very interesting. I would probably say I’m the complete opposite. My ideal gaming experience is sitting on my couch absorbed in a great single- player experience that leaves me speechless because of a great story. In short, when it comes to gaming, my silence speaks a thousand words.

Will third parties want to put the effort in though? I get the feeling some major incentivising by Microsoft and Sony may be needed this generation, for both the Kinect and DualShock 4 touchpad.

This might be a negative opinion but I think publishers are well within their right to use Online Passes for things like Online Multiplayer (but not for anything that affects the single player experience e.g Arkham City requiring a code for Catwoman).
