I’m kind of rooting for T-Mobile in all of this. When the dust settles, Softbank will either get Sprint or it will go after T-Mo. While I’d love to see Softbank go for T-Mo (I think they’re a far better company than DISH), the alternative is also interesting, assuming DISH can win the bid for Clearwire. If Softbank takes Sprint but Sprint loses Clearwire to DISH, then we could (and likely will) see a DISH bid for T-Mobile.
That extra spectrum that Clearwire has could then be reallocated, along with DISH’s spectrum, to greatly increase the spectrum for T-Mobile/DISH. Though T-Mo is much smaller than Sprint atm, a huge spectrum gain could help T-Mobile overcome the perception that their network is spotty, catapulting them past Sprint for #3. (That assumes, though, that DISH/T-Mo wouldn’t be absolutely DROWNING in debt.)
Ep 1 was hard to follow (too much voiceover), but the scene in Ep 2 that had me laughing almost to tears was Lucille finding an…ahem…unique solution to smoking while confined to her apartment. Looking forward to watching more as the day goes by.
