Ran out of time for an edit, so I’m replying to my own comment.
There’s this aspect which also ties in and makes sense now after some sleep.
Old Spock in the reboot said to New Spock that they need to be friends and also said to Kirk that they need each other. So unless both Kirk and Spock had something to bond them, those were simply words. They had to be tested beyond what they were capabale of.
That meant death.
So when Spock betrays Kirk, Kirk realizes that New Spock simply doesn’t feel the loyalty that he showed to him, and he feels betrayed….and New Spock simply doesn’t get what Old Spock said to him because if he did, he would have never betrayed Kirk. Spock simply isn’t ready to embrace the hard truth that he needs Kirk.
Spock is faced with Kirk saving him – it doesn’t sink in. Then is faced with the pure emotional fact that Kirk dies in front of him. It forces him to come out of his logical shell and accept his emotions for Kirk and what Old Spock told him. It is his moment. It becomes the Kirk and Spock bond.
Death created their Life.
It works well for me.

My take on The Scene is different.
You have to take ST2 TWOK and STID in competely different contexts. Since Kirk and Spock in this series haven’t had the ‘bonding time’ that the original Kirk/Spock had from the TV series, The Scene IS their bonding moment, where the original scene in TWOK was an emotional one from loss.
The Scene in STID is the moment where Kirk and Spock become that pair. It has the opposite effect as ST2 TWOK where one loses the other. Here, they gain each other.
Now that the two have that connection from a completely different perspective, it can be built from here.
Having slept on it (where it bugged me last night) I now get it. It HAD to happen this way, since there will never be a TV series to develop their relationship/bond without an event such as this.
Good job, JJ. It had to happen.

While there was quite the liberal amount of ‘borrowing’ from a previous Star Trek movie, I enjoyed the film. You have to detach from the original to enjoy the new. Comparing the two isn’t fair.
These aren’t the same characters from a development standpoint and that’s on purpose. That ‘The Scene’ being mentioned here is an obvious reference, it’s wrong to compare the two. They’re distinctly different.
Tie in to what Old Spock said to New Spock in the 2009 reboot about the relationship between he and Kirk, then it makes sense (The Scene).
Thoroughly enjoyed it.

A Debit Card works two ways – using the banks network (online debit) or Visa/MasterCard’s network (offline debit). When using the banks network, you are simply using your ABA/DDA information, like a check, but without having to provide your PIN, which is why you don’t use your actual debit card number.
When using Visa/MC’s network, you are using a system called interchange, of which there are fees attached, which is why they charge for that service. This would be when you use the sixteen numbers on the front of your card plus the expiration date and three digit code on the back of your card.
