It ships with a “out of date” android version because 4.2 is horrible
The fact that HTC is taking so long to decide to even release the 4.2 update (Which they have ready) shows. Samsung had to do a lot of digging around and they suffered from the hit from it.

Take a guess why the Nexus 7 and Galaxy Nexus perform horribly in 4.2
Only the Nexus 4 has a decent performance, but it could be better.

4.2 was a flop and Google knows it. Here is hoping 4.3 fixes the wrong doings

Unless you are rooting the S4 and installing CM 10.1 to fix the clusterfuck that Samsung keeps doing to Android, get the HTC One. It’s way faster and snappier stock compared to the S4

Combined Cycle Natural Gas power plants have a very good efficiency (aprox 60%) and pollute way way less than Coal and Fuel power plants. Together with large hydro power plants and wind farms, you can have a very good base/intermediate/intermittent technologies to fulfil the load during the day.

That is, if you don’t want to use Nuclear, which is way cleaner in terms of CO2 emissions.
