Actual TOTP/HOTP authenticators (not something like SMS authentication, which this patent does seem to cover) don’t seem to be covered. From the claims:
transmitting the qualifying identification and a request for an authorization signal from the data input apparatus to an authorization computer along a first transmission path;
establishing the authorization signal in the authorization computer;
sending the authorization signal from the authorization computer to a monitor along a second transmission path different as compared to the first transmission path;
Authenticator apps receive a shared private key once, the numbers are generated using maths. This indicates it’s sent on demand, like SMS.
