Andrew Webster is the entertainment editor at The Verge, where he oversees the site's coverage of the intersecting worlds of gaming, film, and television. He joined the site in 2012 and has covered major events like E3, TIFF, Sundance, and GDC; served as a judge at The Game Awards and E3; interviewed industry luminaries like Shigeru Miyamoto, Phil Spencer, and Hironobu Sakaguchi; and reviewed countless games, movies, and shows including basically every Pokémon release. He has also edited several special issues covering topics like the history of PlayStation and how creatives get paid online.

This voice cast is looking sus.

We still don’t know much about the Among Us animated series, but the show has its crew, with a voice cast including Randall Park, Ashley Johnson, Yvette Nicole Brown, and Elijah Wood. Sounds like a group that would really love a pizza party.

You’ve heard of “what is a photo?” Now it’s time for “what is a selfie?”

The question is being raised by a new exhibition called “Art of the Selfie” at the National Museum Cardiff. It will display, among other works, Vincent van Gogh’s famous “Portrait of the Artist” as a way of asking the question “is a self-portrait the original selfie?” Maybe it’s time for a new t-shirt.

The director of the Star Wars: Jedi games announces new studio.

Stig Asmussen is best-known for directing Fallen Order and Survivor while at Respawn, and before that he worked primarily on the God of War franchise. Now he’s launching a new studio called Giant Skull that will focus on “gameplay-driven, story immersed action-adventure games set in captivating worlds.” No details on any projects yet, but the studio does at least have a logo.

it’s Oppenheimer. The film took home a bunch of awards, and the evening culminated with it taking home best picture.

The penultimate award of the evening went to Emma Stone for best actress in a lead role in Poor Things. She beat out Annette Bening (Nyad), Lily Gladstone (Killers of the Flower Moon), Sandra Hüller (Anatomy of a Fall), and Carey Mulligan (Maestro).

It’s Oppenheimer again.

Just moments after Cillian Murphy was named best actor, Christopher Nolan took home best director, his first time winning the award.

Fresh off winning the best actor in a leading role award last year, Brendan Fraser presented this year’s award to Cillian Murphy for his performance in Oppenheimer. “I’m a very proud Irishman standing here tonight,” Murphy said.
