People forget the fact that Intel bought StrongARM from DEC in the late 90s, but made a seemingly bad choice to get out of the ARM business right as it exploded in mobile.

Overdrive needs to team up with Google on this on their library lending. I wonder how they handle the DRM, and if it would be compatible with the epub lending model? If they could get the functionality similar to how the Overdrive Kindle lending works, but with epub, it would be pretty sweet.

Yet Google allows apps in the chrome store that allow you to block ads and skip pre-rolls in Youtube. That’s what makes this disingenuous. They don’t take stuff out of their own store that blocks ads on Youtube.

Just in time for the release of the sub 8" Win 8/RT tablets?
This would also immediately buy them 2nd place in US ebooks if I’m not mistaken.

But his minute gives him a fully charged phone. Plugging into a wall or PC takes quite awhile to get to a full charge, and requires cables, adapters, etc. Much bulkier than a small battery.
To each their own.

Strange, but I’ve bought double packs of batteries for my families phones off ebay that come with an external charger for the spares.
And carrying a little battery or two in my work bag vs a big clunky case in my pocket (I don’t use cases at all) is more preferable to me.
I understand some people don’t care about swappable batteries, but I don’t get why they seem so hostile to those of us with actual use cases for them still wanting some phones on the market to give us the option.

I have four in my bag for my aging EVO. As the phone got older and the battery life worsened due to general use, I just bought cheap batteries off of ebay. I can go for days without ever having to plug in, or just put a small battery in my pocket as a spare if I’m going to be away from all power for a day. Traveling a lot for work, I don’t have to be that guy in the airport cleaving to the few wall plugs between flights, and that feels good.
Until you can get multiple days out of a phone without fail, I’m still in the camp of demanding the option to carry spares. I don’t want to have to go the sloppy case battery route, or even the big recharging battery device route.
I’m glad options still are out there like the S4 that lets me have flexibility in how I keep my phone charged.

Wonder why the embargo is so seemingly late. I much preferred the HTC One being way out in front of the release. Generally that’s done when a manufacturer is confident in their device. I don’t see why Samsung wouldn’t be here, but maybe they think they don’t have to be as up front?
Just seems odd with as much money and emphasis as Samsung’s put on marketing lately.
