I don’t get the ‘FDA is pushing the treatment underground’. That line of argument is flawed to me. While they may be taking too much time to do their due diligence, the fact remains that people who decide to undergo backdoor treatments are making that decision on their own. You can’t blame the FDA for the actions of people, just because they refuse to abdicate their responsibility to safeguard public health.

I don’t see this taking off… Who really wants another, separate ecosystem just for car apps? Its a bit of a lose for developers because you have to learn a new system, and ultimately you still have a disconnect between the rate of iteration in apps and software versus the lifespan of the car. Who wants to build apps that only work for one type of car? I just don’t see this as an ecosystem I would ever develop for.

I agree. Although I get it that you want to be able to use FB on your wearable computer, Glass isn’t more compelling than a smartphone until it has functions that you absolutely wouldn’t be able to use a smartphone for. Right now, they only seem to have one — pictures.

I think this look is also more appealing to the average biker than say, Glass. More their style…

Yeah..no chip reader is a bit of a minus. Also, many credit cards now use pin numbers instead of signatures..I’m wondering how secure this is against pin-tracking, and how easy it is to discreetly enter your pin.

But we already have a method of making meat that is self-sterilizing, modular, self-reproducing, able to feed itself, and able to move itself. Its called a cow.

I think it could also be a result of our current typical work schedule, which is that full time day jobs are hard to do while still raising children, and I think that women may be more likely to make concessions in way of giving up opportunities that require them to be fixed into this schedule (+extra responsibilities as you climb the ladder). Part of that may be patriarchal, but I think there might be other reasons for it as well that are not necessary a hold over from more sexist times.
