No, no, no. The 4412 has always been quad-core, and the 4212 has always been dual-core.
These were the specs before the name change, but they still fall in line other than nomenclature:
Exynos 4212: 32 nm, 1.2-1.5 GHz dual-core A9, ARM Mali-400
Exynos 4412: 32 nm, 1.5-1.8 GHz quad-core A9, ARM Mali-400
Exynos 5250: 32 nm, 2.0 GHz dual-core A15, Mali-T604
Exynos 5450: 32/28 nm, 2.0 GHz quad-core A15, Mali-T658
There were later specs I saw from other sources suggesting the 4412 could run the 604, (which I was hoping for the S III if they didn’t go 5250/604, at least).
