BTW, I’m a Galaxy Nexus owner (though one my “nexts” is the Lumia 920 – the 925 won’t make it here to Brazil until Q4 2013!).
I just say it because the main reason people aren’t getting that much Windows Phones are the apps, so it’s a “chicken or egg” situation.

So people should buy Windows Phones right now, even though it doesn’t have YouTube (or Pocket, or Instagram, for that matter), just so Google makes apps for WP (since there would be too many users for them to ignore).

Well, Google is happy that they make more ad $$$, but then, some of the reasons people don’t switch to WP go down, WP has a significant growth and Google fears Android becomes irrelevant eventually.

The region blocking for Play Music, Books, Movies (+ TV) and Magazines has to do with international rights and interest of the rightsholders in the digital content market in their respective countries.
(Here in Brazil, we already have Google Play Books and Play Movies.)

And there was a time when “Lumia” was the name of a hair dye line from Garnier:

But it’s OK: Nokia doesn’t make hair dye, and L’Oréal (Garnier’s parent) doesn’t make smartphones.

The ubiquity of Galaxy phones.
People keep asking if my Galaxy Nexus is a Galaxy (well, it is, but technically it isn’t, since it’s more a Nexus then a Galaxy).

But can’t they have two flagships, since the Optimus G competes with the Galaxy S III and the S4, and the Optimus G Pro has the Galaxy Note II as competition?

The Brazilian and South Korean markets matter. HTC ignored them (their flagship phones were never sold here in Brazil), and then left those countries.

It’s some sort of arrow, something like “go decide” (I’ve added the “decide” because of Bing’s “decision engine” branding).

I’m pretty sure this was made just so the agency behind this (and Ambev, the Brazilian arm of Anheuser-Busch InBev) would have something to make the Cannes Lions advertising festival shortlist (the deadline for entries is coming).
It’s ads-and-campaigns-made-for-festivals season.

This. You know the LG Optimus phones? Well, in Portugal, they’re called “LG Maximo”, because of the telco, Optimus (part-owned by France Télécom/Orange).
Also, remember the Sega Genesis? It’s called “Mega Drive” elsewhere in the world (i.e., everywhere but the US and Canada).

Yes they are. But they also use the Galaxy name for everything Android: smartphones, tablets, cameras… If it’s from Samsung, it runs Android, and it’s not a Nexus, it’ll certainly be called “Galaxy”.

Plastic bills are much more expensive to make.
Plus, Brazil did mint plastic 10-real bills (a series issued to commemorate the 500th anniversary of the arrival of the Portuguese explorers, in 2000), but that experiment was financially unsuccessful. Plus, the worn-out bills don’t look good. In fact, they don’t even look like currency.
