Ah yes, that’s right. As much of a Nintendo fan as I might be, I must admit they do software much better than hardware. They’ve always made some sort of bad hardware decision one way or another, except maybe in the handheld world, prior to the 3DS.
At least people get new phones rather quickly, it’s not like you’ve built up a nice collection of movies, only to have the opposing format win, rendering your library and player useless.
I can agree that most did not own the GCN as a standalone. Yes, it did start with the N64, all because they went with expensive, low capacity cartridges…I wonder how different things would be if they went disc that early on…
