Conversely, bacteria could affect extraterrestrial life in the same way they affect robots now – i.e. not at all. It works both ways – the make-up of ET lifeforms may be of zero use to a bacterium.

In the bottom-left (far-left on the photos strip), there is the ‘Earth’ link. Same reaction here – looks great, if a little slow to load areas – but it is far better than the previous version and much more usable, particularly when it comes to exploring.

Not sure if it’s what you mean, but the auto-upload feature on Google+ needn’t actually share your photos. In fact, I’m fairly sure they’re private by default.

AFAIK, there is only the Metro PDF viewer built into Windows 8? Correct me if I’m wrong. I don’t know about images. I’m actually using Chrome as my PDF viewer now which is fine, but even so you’d think they’d have a desktop- and metro-friendly versions of the core apps.

An option to disable Metro full-screen apps would be nice too. If I’m reading a PDF or want to refer to a image, I don’t necessarily want it to consume my entire screen, thanks.
