Chicago, unlike NYC, has fewer people than it did a decade ago -

A fun apartment horror story that didn’t make it to the piece. Would love to hear yours :)
A guy is moving from Philly to NYC. He finds a nice place on Craigslist. He likes the two roommates. One claims to represent the landlord, so he collects the rent.
A week later the guy wakes up in the middle of the night. Two people are standing in his bedroom, screaming at him in french.
The argument gets so heated the cops show up. The French couple claim to be the rightful tenants.
Turns out the French couple did live there, once upon a time. One of them was also the landlords on again off again lover, before a sex change operation complicated things.
The French couple had rented the unit to roommate #1, who in turn had rented it to roommate’s number #2 and #3.
The landlord was actually dead, but everyone was keeping that a secret, so they could maintain the rent controlled status of the apartment.
Fin.

ZocDoc started in New York, then expanded nationwide. Same thing with OpenTable in San Francisco. A big city is a great place to incubate an idea, then expand when it works.
That being said, NYC real estate is a unique animal.

One big difference the judge pointed out was that they FBI could not say for certain where this computer was located or what other people, besides the subject, might be caught up in the surveillance.

If you like Tumblr, then you want it to succeed.
If the ads work well for its biz and don’t suck for users, then I could see it being “exciting” for the consumer. Or at least, not awful ;)
