The photo search feature is cool. I can search for general concepts like flowers, mountains, and food, and get accurate results. I can search for specific things like “cherries” and “lighthouse” and “capitol” and get my pictures of cherries, lighthouses, and the US Capitol Building. Searching by location seems to work well too.
I haven’t used it personally (yet) to vouch for it, but ClockworkMod’s app Helium lets you perform backups of your Android apps without root in a fairly simple manner. It’s not built into the OS and such a feature certainly should be, but it’s a solution.
One problem with a theoretical universal Android backup system is manufacturer skins- if you had a Motorola device and performed a full backup similar to an iTunes one, it would likely be difficult to transfer all of this data seamlessly to, say, a Samsung device.
