At least wait to see what Motorola has to offer. They will most likely offer a phone with a big battery like the MAXX. That’s a big deal to me.
I am currently leaning towards HTCONE as my next phone. The front facing speakers, good camera, and its looks almost sold me on it. I generally like Sense software, and the new Sense 5 is more streamlined and lightweight, so it no longer causes lag.
The S4 is a very good phone, but some say it’s laggy because of all the features in Touchwiz. The lag can probably be reduced with tweaks. There are a lot of software features in Touchwiz on the S4, but some of them seem gimmicky.
I think the HTCONE edges out the S4 because it at least has the front facing speakers. Besides that, it boils down to which phone you think looks better. (They both have the same processor and RAM in the U.S.)
For me, my choice would be the HTCONE until Motorola shows me something better.
Yeah, it does seem like HTC painted themselves into a corner by using simply ONE as the name. They’ve already used ONE X, S, V, X+ and such. Who knows, maybe they’ll go the Apple route and keep the name of it the same next year, and unofficially people will call it the “ONE 2.”
Wow, I’ve been waiting for this. Really glad to see it happen. I was pretty sure this was going to be my next phone, but Moto X has me thinking. I’m generally a heavy user, and Moto X has a good chance of having a battery at 3000mAh. However, HTCONE has been reported to have pretty decent battery life, and it hits on most of the annoyances I’ve had with Android phones: speaker placement, camera quality, built quality, and sound quality. And it looks beautiful to boot.
