I think that’s where my issue lies, I’m purposely not trying to tie myself to anything yet and let it find itself. Previously I’ve tried to keep it solely to music and it hasn’t worked because there’s so much more I want to put out there. I originally went to college studying publishing with the intention of doing a degree in journalism but found myself going in and out of jobs in the Insurance market and have now come to a stand point with no realisation of where I want to go with my life. I think that’s probably why I’ve started this blog in particular – but like you I’ve torn down quite a few too.
I rarely turn my computers off. However, I do tend to switch the audio from my main hifi from my Mac to my record player as I like to buy my favourite album in vinyl if possible. When I’m either awake after 12am (when others are asleep) I tend to hook some earphones/headphones to my iPhone and either listen to music via the Spotify of TuneIn Radio apps and on the odd occasion use my old iPod should there be any reason I cannot use the internet.
Another possibility is that the times have been edited under ‘Get Info’. I can’t say I’ve tried editing times before and come across this but it’s the only scenario I can think of other than the above.
Have you thought about opening your .mp3 (or whichever format) files in another player? If the problem still persists then it’s pretty safe to say they’ve not been encoded properly.
Adobe Lightroom – hands down the best out there and has some nice developer features too. However, based on a few assumptions I have made on your above post I believe Aperture may be your best bet (if it’s just photo management that you’re after). Differences between Lightroom and Aperture are fairly small though.
