There isn’t any reason for apple to just release an LCD television with an Apple TV built in. I still think they’re going to partner with direcTV and eventually push an IPTV service; possibly also with the direcTV branding. I bet they’ll follow the cellular business model. Hell, they might even subsidize the thing.

I’ve been looking for one of these. Nice review. They’re all too expensive though. It seems like comparable bluetooth boxes are much cheaper. I’m wondering how much apple is charing for the airplay license, and if that’s ramping up costs, how much better the sound quality is by the nature of wifi vs bluetooth, and finally if the airplay speakers are just of higher quality than the bluetooth speakers in general.
