That will be hard. The problem with verified accounts is often they are used by multiple people. Twitter really needs to address that first (a way for multiple people to manage a single account). Until they do that, I don’t see many of the verified accounts using 2-step authentication unless it is only used by 1 or 2 people.

Since it is always on, you will always use it for your tv. Will you use the tv guide features or voice control to change channels? Probably not. But the barrier to entry for the video apps is now much smaller since the Xbox is always on and is using your tv’s main input. This whole article is giving too much attention to a small part of the xbox. The real feature is the quick access to the Xbox apps and games which is going to result is more engadgement. That seems to be lost on Nilay.

No, they will complain when it violates their policies. Not only is MS taking revenue away from Google but also to content producers that are in the revenue sharing program with Youtube.

Whether it is always connected or not, it is not going to make a difference in sales. People have been freaking out for months with a basic lack of understanding. Obviously it will be always connected. The question is will it still function when it is not. Do people really think it is going to be a door stop when the internet goes down?

Haha at Apple creating an open standard. My guess is you will never see an IR blaster on an iPhone though as Apple would prefer there be a way to control devices over wifi.

How about home theater manufacturers actually create a standard so all this could be done over wifi. It’s ridiculous that phone manufacturers have to include IR in a phone because remote control interoperability is so archaic.

The days of doubling the number of iPhone sales are over. Less than 10% growth is flat. Even Tim Cook said so today. And the fact that close to 40% of iPhone sales are the 4/4S is resulting in lower profits. No time in the history of the iPhone has the previous generation sold so many iPhones.
