I think most people are confusing the two types of pilots. They are treating these more like first episodes that aired rather than the proof of concept to see if the show is worth developing.
Part of the fault falls on Amazon though for not making it clear to those who aren’t familiar with how TV shows are developed that this is not necessarily the final product. This instead is the stepping stone between hearing the pitches and deciding to develop a show.
