I think Paul is doing something exceptional here. It’s like living in a post-apocalyptic world. Except for all the head chopping and chilling with surprisingly clean and pretty women who survived the apocalypse. We’ve become so addicted to consuming large amounts of information that when we don’t we suffer widhrawl symptoms.
I lost my smartphone for 48 hours. They were simultaneously the most productive and the worst hours of my adult life. I don’t aim to know what Paul will come to understand about us when he’s done with his year away from the internet but I’m eager to find out.

This is one of those examples where people who pirate this game are able to play it and those that bought it legitimately are locked out when the server goes down.

Interesting, I had not thought of that. Sadly you’re right about the second part .. even if I figure out what’s causing the issue no one at comcast would likely give a shit..
10 days ago on Is Comcast prioritizing its Xfinity app over competitors like Netflix? 1 reply

Agreed. This is what I experience day in and day out. The only option that I have for internet is Comcast. Hulu and netflix get terrible speeds on network. My iPad streams better quality video over 3g. When I connect through a VPN and use netflix and hulu I get consistent HD streams from both. As soon as I disconnect the VPN the quality drops.
I’ve used various DNS’s to try and rule out a faulty DNS on comcast’s network.

Think of it like a gateway drug. Image you’ve got a kinect. You’re watching TV through say the Hulu Plus app. You decide to go out, search for something by just talking at your TV, find something you like? Let me send that your phone or here’s a QR code take a picture of it. The point is not what’s the use but asking why not? Until we have the tech sitting in front of us it sort of hard to think of a use case for. We’re basically inventing needs as we go along.
It’s like a gateway drug.
