I’m not too sure that within such a short time frame they could have reworked an Xbox that required a connection into one that didn’t. I’m more inclined to believe people were just overreacting before any real details came out.

I’m sure the consumers can advocate for themselves by returning their newly purchased WP8 devices if they are THAT upset by 3rd party app alternatives after switching from Android.

Having new hardware released in 2013 doesn’t automatically make any hardware from 2012 less functional. Some people are driven by having the latest and greatest while others just want something that’ll work.
