Longer battery life comes mainly once the version with bigger battery is sold in the public version, this development kit’s battery size is probably way too small.

Google may announce 1 Billion Android activations at Google I/O, and I believe that doesn’t include 500 million more non-certified MediaTek/Allwinner/Rockchip/AmLogic/Actions/Infotmic/etc Android phones, tablets, set-top-boxes etc. You can be sure most of those aren’t sold in the USA under the US dictatorial carriers. Most Android is sold unlocked, unsubsidized, with no contracts, with no custom UI ala HTC/Samsung/Sony, most of the worldwide Android is Nexus style UI and sold in retail mainly.

Florian mueller is a stooge trying to spread Microsoft’s propaganda. Those announcements are bogus and totally fake. None of those announcements show numbers of how much money is going from Microsoft to the Android companies, none mention how much Microsoft has spent desperately trying to make a promote their proprietary software versus Android, none of those papers explain what it means to be a Windows Phone/RT/8 partner, which they all are. You will never find a so called announcement from any company not being a Windows Phone/RT/8 partner. Ergo it’s just plain waste of time to even look at florian muellers website, I’m not going to click any of your links, I have other things to do.

Oh yea, you just believe that Linux is stolen. Good luck with that. Software cannot be patented. Because all software is not special and is not new. End of story.

Motorola’s patents are core to all phones, which is why they are 10000x more worthwhile than whatever rectangle or touch screen patent Apple claims to have. Apple’s and Microsoft’s patent claims are completely worthless and completely invalid in all the worlds courts.

Release ARM Processor. Must be first item on Intel’s new CEO agenda.
No good reason Intel can’t release ARM Processors.
Stubborn jealousy should not be a $118 Billion company’s main corporate strategy.

Higher Living, why don’t you get married with the corrupt FOSSpatents guy. That guy is PAID BY MICROSOFT. Why do you even bother to link him as a source?
NONE OF THOSE COMPANIES pay Microsoft $1 for Android. That is just a plain LIE. Microsoft pays those exact companies $20 Billion to release Windows Phone/RT/8 devices that NOBODY WANTS TO BUY. You will NEVER find one single supposed Android company paying Microsoft who somehow magically isn’t also a Microsoft PARTNER in releasing Windows Phone/RT/8 devices, AND YOU WILL NEVER see them mention any of the terms of the deals that are going on. YOU CAN BE SURE, Microsoft is the one paying the Android companies, not the other way around. Why the F&%ck would HTC ever pay Microsoft to release those crappy Windows Phones which nobody wants to buy! Are you friggin insane to even think that is possible??
As for source for my claim there are 2000 Android companies, just print out the listing of ANY consumer electronics trade show from ANYWHERE in the world over the past 3-4 years, pretty much 95% of ALL companies at all consumer electronics trade shows are EXHIBITING ANDROID SOLUTIONS, that easy. Android dominates everything and you’re a moron if you think anyone is going to allow Microsoft or Apple claim to have any valid ownership over Android. Just go do to yourself what Clint Eastwood talks about at the Republican Convention if you want to insist on this bullshit with me today. I have something else to do.

Android camp includes just about 2000 companies, all the major component suppliers/inventors, all the major carriers, all the major historic electronics brands, companies employing literally millions of engineers (who all regularly invent and file patents) THEY ARE ALL IN THE ANDROID CAMP, ergo you’re embarrassing yourself if you think the Android camp is EVER going to let Apple or Microsoft step on the 100% FREE AND OPEN SOURCE aspects of Android Linux. Apple patenting the rectangle touch screen or Microsoft patenting Linux is such a freakish giant joke, people who believe such crap must be in the wikipedia definition of pure embarrassment.

Wow, you people can’t count.
Motorola actually had ~$3.2B in cash and $2.4B in deferred tax assets. Google actually thus only paid about $7 Billion for Motorola for the operating businesses, 19K staff and the patents which also includes $6.2 Billion in assets (buildings and other stuff..). Google buys those types of buildings ALL THE TIME, Google needs more buildings fast, and Google needs more of those talented employees also which Motorola had many of. So Google only paid $0.8 Billion for Motorola if you substract the assets like buildings also.
And your BULLSHIT claims that Motorola had no valid patent is hugely BULLSHIT. Motorola invented the mobile phone. Motorola’s patents are way more valuable than Microsoft’s, Apple’s and Oracle’s put together. But hey, techmeme, just go ahead and quote the corrupt blogger FLOSSPatent every single day for the next few years if you want. The reality is all the patents are in the Android camp, Apple and Microsoft have nothing. Apple and Microsoft are just desperate enough to use corrupt bloggers to desperately try to advance their cause.
