Are digital downloads still tied to the machine (like the Wii?)
I was a bit sad to see some of my content go with the machine when we sold our Wii.

With or without this, I can see myself sticking with Steam for the foreseeable future.
Sat at my desk on my monitor or big picture mode and a long HDMI cable + wireless XBOX pad when I want to lounge on the sofa. The feature complete gaming experience for me.

Third party services integrated into custom builds are already competing with Google services and are rife on Android.
I can’t see why Nokia would find it any different.

There are “business deals” for the Google apps.
http://android-developers.blogspot.co.uk/2009/09/note-on-google-apps-for-android.html?m=1
With a high-quality open platform in hand, we then returned to our goal of making our services available on users’ phones. That’s why we developed Android apps for many of our services like YouTube, Gmail, Google Voice, and so on. These apps are Google’s way of benefiting from Android in the same way that any other developer can, but the apps are not part of the Android platform itself. We make some of these apps available to users of any Android-powered device via Android Market, and others are pre-installed on some phones through business deals.
What that exactly entails, I do not know!

Just to show you further, this is what you are presented with with multiple mapping solutions installed when taping on an address in Android.
I could set Yandex as the default and have it handle all map and location related requests.

Orange UK bundle their Android phones with Orange Maps. There would be nothing stopping Nokia doing the same.

Its beneficial to developers. Google did a similar thing in 2008.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Android_Developer_Challenge
A panel of over 100 judges received judging packets and laptops that were preloaded with all the submissions, for a consistent, fair environment to judge the submissions. After three weeks of rigorous analysis, the judges released a list of 50 first round winners, who were then eligible to participate in the final round. These 50 most promising entries, announced on 5 May 2008, each received a $25,000 award to fund further development.23 The finalists were then given a deadline of 30 June 2008 to submit their applications for the final round. The competition concluded with the announcement of ten teams that received $275,000 each, and ten teams that received $100,000 each.4 The entire list of $275,000 Award Recipients, $100,000 Award Recipients, Finalists and Judges can be viewed here.5
Do people really want developers to have less avenues to make money? I don’t. It’s those devs that make the platforms they work on so good.
