I guess it might make them care less about not having stock phones, but still, I don’t know if I would put myself through that just on principle.

No offense to the Verge team, but why don’t they ever unlock the bootloader and install an AOSP ROM? It’s so easy on most of the models, and takes less than an hour for the entire process.

I’d totally be into that, would be a great way to find stuff to do when you’re bored.

I would expect if this was implemented, they would have an option to turn that feature off to prevent unsolicited messages.

But it does beat the other screens in terms of resolution, and Google beat Apple to a music service. They didn’t say Google’s music service beat Apple’s, as in, defeated/is better than it, they just were quicker to make one.

Says Ellsworth: “Gabe was completely behind it… I talked to Gabe, and he talked to the lawyers, and he’s like, ’It’s theirs, make it happen,’ because he could see we were passionate about it.”
I think they did, and realized they could devote all of their time to this project rather than being sidetracked by internal Valve projects. It might not make Valve any money now, but they probably would rather pay new employees to work on their projects than paying Jeri and the other people to do something else.

People don’t seem to realize that Glass is probably one of the most blatant ways to record somebody. It’s so easy to hide a button camera or something without anybody ever knowing it’s there. If someone wants to record you, they can do it. Not to mention security cameras everywhere, many of which are probably very well hidden. Google Glass should be the least of your privacy concerns, if you have any.

140dB seems incredibly unlikely. The only way I can think it would be able to do that is if it exploded.
edit: The actual Nokia post says the microphones can record 140dB sound, not play it back through the speaker.
