I fly. A lot. Like 80k+ miles a year. It’s nice having status, but every once in a while I have to fly an airline I don’t have status on and it sucks. The entire process is broken.
I work in the information assurance industry (specifically Microsoft windows and the products that live on the various supported OSes like AD,DNS,IIS,Apache,BES,HBSS,SQL,oracle etc) and have nothing but bad things to say about Microsoft (and other large software vendors like adobe, oracle, etc) and their patching process. I’ve traveled around the world and nearly every US state to do this work and the same thing rings true no matter where I go: Microsoft’s approach to security leaves holes wide open and causes Millions, perhaps even billions in dollars of extra work.
