That analogy is absolutely ridiculous. The correct analogy would have had something to do with Microsoft developing for the Chromebook, which they don’t do anything for, so yeah…

Congrats, they have a few API’s. That doesn’t make it open. Try again.

Again, that’s not the point. I’m not saying Google shouldn’t offer up the API’s, because if Microsoft is playing fairly, then there’s really no reason not to. However, that still doesn’t give Microsoft any standing to directly violate the ToS which they agreed to abide by. Microsoft knew what they were doing.

Quit using the “Well Google didn’t do it so everything goes out the door” excuse. Google isn’t obligated to do jack shit. If they choose not to make a dedicated app for WP, that’s their choice. Just like Microsoft has CHOSEN not to create an Office app (yet) for Android or iOS.
The bottom line is Microsoft blatantly violated Google’s YouTube ToS. Any argument about “Well karma’s a bitch, maybe Google should have made one themselves then” is a bunch of hypocritical, whine-ass crap.

No ads = loss of revenue = loss of salary. Gee, was that so hard?

Oh really? Because last time I checked, Google doesn’t HAVE to support every single platform, especially if they deem it not to be cost effective. Microsoft however HAS to follow Google’s guidelines if they want to use their API’s. Don’t like it? Too bad.

The only thing I will say to that is the comment about not having a website. Path was designed specifically to be a mobile-based social network, so that’s intentional.
I generally agree with everything you said, though.
