I saw that clock/battery widget on here sometime ago, maybe it was you. It was indeed a sexy widget.

So PS4 won’t support this kind of thing? That seems like a huge advantage for xbox.

It can do a fair bit from what I’ve seen, and internet is getting faster all the time.

Does the PS4 offload work to the cloud the way xbox will? That holds huge potential for future games. They both need to be jumping on that.

The NES. I remember busting out the power pad and playing that olympics game. SNES is still my favorite, most nostalgic system though.

That would be cool.

That’s the future, not right now. The majority of people still use plain old DVD’s and games on discs.

Did your cell phone still work? If so, then you would be able to verify your game.
Honestly, people are looking for reasons to hate this, looking outliers that are far and few between. If a hurricane comes through my town, I’m going to be more concerned with not being killed rather than how ‘hard’ it will be to access my video games.

No it isn’t. They have record breaking box office numbers year after year. If they decline, they only have themselves to blame for putting out so many crappy movies. The movies are recession proof for a reason, people love going to the movies, and while producers and actors are able to claim 15 million (forgetting the likes of Depp and Downey’s 50 million+ deals) I’m not going to believe the money is leaving the business. God forbid everyone involved has to make do with a normal wage.
I suspect one of the reasons a lot of people want to move to just 3D is because it’s harder to pirate.

You can turn it off, you just can’t unplug it. If you’re still paranoid, just cover up the camera lol.

I understand they want to defend against piracy, although I believe it’s more of an attack on used games. But the always on thing just doesn’t fly. They need to have alternate options to verify your game, maybe a unique code key you can text and they send you a passcode if the game isn’t associated already by someone else with a different phone number, something like that. They just need more options than 24 hour wifi.

That’s assuming that everyone who pirated a game would have bought the game otherwise, which just isn’t remotely true. In my experience most people who download movies, music, and games wouldn’t buy it if they couldn’t pirate it. Is pirating taking away dollars? Absolutely, but not enough to endanger the industry or any franchise by any means.

That is interesting, I think there’s more to xbox that we still haven’t seen yet.

I would change the hour limit to apply toward hours played, not just hours where it sits idle. That makes more sense to me. And you can force a verification to reset your time if you’re going off the grid for a weekend. 24 to 72 hours turns into a lot more when its 24 to 72 hours actually played.

I really think it was. Remember how expensive the PS3 was? I think they were going to ship with the eye, but decided not to to help bring the price down. They weren’t really innovating with it anyway, just trying to stay on par with xbox and even nintendo.
The Kinect can do some amazing stuff if developers really started embracing it. And now that everyone who buys an xbox will have one, it will make more sense to develop a game using something that everybody has, whereas before you would be limiting yourself if you designed a game with kinect in mind because not everyone would have one. Why would you choose to limit yourself that way? I think shipping with a kinect is the right move.
7 days ago on Do you think that Sony purposely undercut the Xbox One on price?

couldn’t you just never go online with it and have the same copy of the disc used on several offline machines?
I’m not sure how to solve this in a way that still combats piracy. Maybe use a cellular radio in the xbox for verification so that it doesn’t need you to have internet at all. Surely they could put one in there cheaply, like the one they use in those eink kindles.
Then in the absence of wifi or a cell signal, for those people who someway somewhere that have neither, they should be allowed to go without the verification process. If the box doesn’t detect either than you can pop the disc in and play normally since you’re not able to verify at no fault of your own.
Would this lead to pirates building lead cases to keep out cell signals to play their pirated games? If they wanna put that kind of effort into it just let them.

I’m so curious what kinds of prices the extra content and characters will be on Killer Instinct. If I bought all the characters would it end up being more expensive than the traditional way, or is this just a way to fleece customers who want access to everything these games traditionally offer?
I guess if I just have a couple characters I like, and upgrade them, surely it will be cheaper than a normally priced game. I haven’t jumped into the whole online gaming thing yet, but I’m assuming you’ll be able to go online and fight other people.

I’m confused as to what you actually do with the game. I understand being able to customize everything and be god essentially looks fun, but is all you do create bad guys, then they come attack you?

You get used to the button layout. I like not having a button in the middle because it leaves a place for your thumb when in landscape mode without accidentally pressing anything. I actually really like blinkfeed, since you can feed things like facebook into it.

What do you mean by have to? That makes every phone charge faster, it’s not necessary o any phone. The One’s battery is bigger than most, it’ll charge longer than most. There are phones that charge faster though, sure.
