As with a lot of geek and DIY/modding cultures, there is a glut of ridiculous shit out there. But, at the same time, there are some (few) actually really tastefully designed e-cigs. Like buying a PC case, you just have to do a lot of digging (and usually pay a higher price).
There are some ridiculous names involved, but I’d argue that vaping is not really one of them.
There is a concerted effort in the e-cig community to distance these devices from traditional(“analog”) cigarettes and the term “smoking” is a part of that.
Also, Vapor/Vaping is a far more accurate term in general than smoke/smoking. There is no smoke involved — that would require combustion.
Maybe for someone with sight, similarly sized bills make little difference, but what about the blind/hard of sight? Shouldn’t our money be accessible to everyone?
This is truly a problem for that non-negligible segment of people.
Uniformity is only nice for aesthetic purposes and we clearly gave up on that concept looong time ago.
This is depressing. I was just looking at the old $100 and thinking that it needed a redesign and quickly followed that thought with “Nevermind. They’d just make it as hideous as the newer 5,10,20, and 50.”
Much to my surprise, they managed to make it even worse than the four lower denominations.
The rest of the world is killing us in the currency design department. We don’t have to make US dollars look minimalist and sleek to make them look respectable. Keep all the ornate details and keep them green, but can we at least make them appear like they’re something worth respecting? Why does it have to look like a high school student with photoshop puked out a design, gave it to a committee, redesigned it, and then randomly added a bunch of security inks and ribbons to it?
There is a middle ground here and it’s embarrassing to have the most respected currency in the world(or at least, the benchmark for other currencies) look so abysmal.
