There is ALMOST no fragmentation problems in the high end android phones, many phones like the HTC thunderbolt(single core, last years specs) will still get ice cream sandwich because its so popular and high end. The fragmentaion problem is HUGE in the low end, most low end devices sold, even if they are very popular like the galaxy 1 phones, still won’t get offcial ice cream sandwiches because the carriers want “differentiation”.
That being said, if you buy a high end android phone with a dual more processor, 99% of apps will run on it. the other 1 percent is just the fault of lazy developers who didn’t update thier apps.
The android tablet market on the other hand……
