No they’re troglodytes who don’t think they “own” something unless they can physically touch it.

I also agree that some additional sweeteners would be nice. Who knows they may annouce some more stuff before launch.

What really sucks was according to Thurrott an subsidized “Arcade” version was in the cards up until Feburary or so and they killed it.
My theory is they realized that it would be too enticing for 360 upgraders or early adopters who were paying for Live Gold anyway. Why take a $200 haircut when you know they’ll pay the $500 for a launch console, AND still pay for gold.
I’m guessing that by next summer the a $299 or $399 verison will be available.

This all the way.
I don’t plan on every buying a physical copy of a game ever again.

I own both Touch and Type covers and the Type cover is better. It’s Slightly thicker, but once you get use to it. its not bad.

This is what your 60$ buys. It’s actually somewhat amazing that it hasn’t gone up… I suppose us early adopters can thank the 360 owners who pay the price but aren’t going to reap these benifits until they upgrade.

That will be the next deal they make, microsoft will give the ISPs a couple of points, and the ISPs will not count bandwith consumed by an Xbox One towards your cap.

methinks the issue may be your PC…

What we will find out down the line is Sony has the EXACT same DRM and Used Game Policies as Microsoft. They’re implmented differently, and probably less centrally, but they’re there. The Publishers demand this still, the economics don’t work any other way.

I can explain it.
Region locking, while not ideal, prevents exporting/importing of the console to markets where the various deals with local ISPs, Rights Holders, and Cable Companies haven’t been made yet.

The misconception that everyone is making regarding the offline games thing is that if developers do what microsoft wants them to do, use the cloud, it doesn’t matter what method they have for authentication; if you are offline, the game won’t play. Even single player games.

It’s actually like this today with Windows 8.
You cannot purchase anything from the Xbox Video Store if you are not in your home country.

The problem is with temporarally suspending the authentication is that it has to call in at least once prior to everything to going to hell to tell it that the timelimit has been suspended.
I have to beleive microsoft will fix this before launch.
You can play all of your digital content offline, after 24 hours all family sharing stops, Disk Based games work only if the disk is inserted. Fixed.

Much like the irony of poeple complaining about it requiring the internet… on the internet.
I think you point is, this same group of bloggers and redditors would be praising the steambox from the mountaintops, when we all know that it will work the exact same way…

Apple has “been near coming out with a game console” for 20 years.
The closest they’ll ever get is opening up the apps market on the Apple TV, which is essentially the same hardware as an iPad 2.

If you have a Windows 8 or RT device it does have “Airplay.”
I can send any media from any of the Bing apps to Xbox.
I’m not sure how they’d really implment that on the other devices.
