That’s true, however it takes more time and is somewhat of a hassle — at least comparatively speaking — somewhat defeating the utility of of multitasking. Why do people use the multitasking key? To quickly switch between recently used applications. Needing to hold down or double-tap a button makes the process slower and more cumbersome than it needs to be.

And the multitasking button. If manufacturers are going to stick with physical/capacitive buttons, that’s fine.. but at least include the back, home, multitasking keys. Maybe even throw in a fourth button for menu key. Oh, and keep the gesture for Google Now FFS.

VNC isn’t even close to suitable for streaming video, audio, and other graphical content at a high framerate. Splashtop seems to be the only remote desktop solution that works well for gaming and other media.

Agreed. It seems like there should be contingencies and guidelines to both protect backers and keep project creators honest, but there should be also be a greater emphasis on educating users on the nature and purpose of the site.

That must be a relatively new addendum to the TOS; I’ve never seen that previously and have actually followed several well documented cases where a creator fails to fulfill the promises of a successfully backed Kickstarter project.
It’s good that they’ve added that, though it unfortunately may lead to further confusion on the usage of Kickstarter — that of a support system with incentives as appose to a store. If you are using it as a store, so be it, but all backers and project creators should be aware of that original — and ongoing — purpose.

While similar to pre-ordering (and often confused as such), there’s a subtle yet absolute difference between that and investing as a backer — one is paying for a product with a guarantee of a refund should things go awry, the other is paying for a project with absolutely zero guarantee of anything. Ouya could have more or less took the money and run with little to no chance of repercussion. The point of backing a Kickstarter project or being an angel investor is (and always has been) to help fund something you care about or think is a good idea. Any incentive is just icing on the cake, not a guarantee or an end goal. Kickstarter needs to do a better job of explicitly stating this, but it is what it is.

I feel as those the majority of the controversial surrounding that article would instantly go away if they were do two simple things:
The point of contention for me was not the rating or what was said, it’s the fact that it’s far to early to fairly give a review. If come June it gets the same score, so be it, but it’s far too soon for a final verdict now. Regardless, what’s done is done, but I lost of lot of respect for this site with that single article.

Some looked — subjectively — much more attractive than this. For example, I’m quite fond of the industrial design featured on the Sinclair Executive:

This was released back in 1972, as one of the very first “slimline” pocket calculators. One could make an argument than iPhone 5’s design owes a thing or two to it:

I also agree with that. However, you cannot buy it. You can pre-order it, but that’s it. The only people who are getting these early are backers from their Kickstarter.

264. I have no trouble with speed or accuracy, but once the imagery in the background started transforming at a rapid rate I began to loose my place. Although it’s counter-intuitive, that’s probably the element most responsible for the sense of game-ification.
