Making a gun is not as difficult as you imagine. The cartridge is the hard part… the chemistry of gunpowder is relatively simple, but the primers — the ignition device, is tricky. The rest of the gun is just a strong tube to direct the energy and projectile, something to whack the primer, something to hold more rounds, and something to put those rounds into position. If you want to do it yourself, you can store the extra rounds in a pocket, and put them in the chamber with your fingers. A trip to the hardware store will take care of the tube and primer-whacker. If it weren’t highly illegal, I could probably make a gun in under an hour, without any experience at all. I would be willing to bet a MakerBot would take a lot longer than that to print this guy up.

and pressures… and friction. Those three things in the photograph that look a little like shotgun shells.. maybe a 3/4ths of an inch wide and three inches long… I wonder if those are disposable chambers/barrels. I can’t imagine any 3d-printable plastic available today would be able to stand up to repeated gun fire. But I’m just talking out my rear… I haven’t studied the design, and I’m not a mechanical engineer.

Shall I go on? You are severely delusional if you think the founding fathers “would almost certainly not support” the “gun lobby’s” attempts to keep the right of the people to keep and bear arms from being infringed.
