Yeah, they don’t even offer the pro account anymore.

I’m happy HTC made this decision actually. I think a mark of shame will be the only way to force these devs to fix their apps. It’s what Apple did to push devs to make iPad apps, and then to add support for the iPhone 5 screen.

RIght on the hangouts play store page
“NOTE: If you aren’t yet able to install Hangouts on your phone or tablet, or the Play Store “Open” button takes you to the old Talk app, hang tight, we are rolling out Hangouts to everyone over the course of several days. Rest assured Hangouts will be available soon for all Android 2.3+ devices, tablets included!
Hangouts brings one-on-one and group conversations to life with photos, emoji, and video calls for free. Connect with friends across computers, Android and Apple devices. Brought to you by Google."

This is unfortunate, but I’m somewhat convinced SMS support isn’t there because it will be put in the next version of android. Seems a bit redundant to have a messages app to send SMS, and a hangouts app to send SMS + Google talk stuff. Maybe its wishful thinking on my part, but I would not be surprised if we saw that integration in the future.

Only disappointing thing to me was that I have to wait a little longer for the maps update, and that Hangouts doesn’t support animated gifs.

I think that big win here isn’t even mentioned. It would APPEAR that the AT&T varient of the HTC One actually accepts international ROMS, and I would assument this would mean it would accept stock unlocked HTC Roms, removing all the junk that AT&T added (which, in all honesty, isn’t too bad considering it can all be disabled). Of course, you need to unlock the bootloader (which appears to be relatively trivial), but coming from a Galaxy note, where there were three damn variants of it worldwide (US, International, Korean) it sure is nice to have a single piece of hardware interoperate between carriers.
