That’s not the most common of definitions, as lousy is generally associated with very poor or bad; disgusting: “lousy weather”. And ill; in poor physical condition: “she felt lousy”.
Even if you do take the idea that it’s an infestation, it’s a pretty lousy adjective to use in this instance :)

If you say “The back is lousy with ports” you mean the back is stingy with ports. Then going on to seemingly say there’s an abundance of ports contradicts this. What did you really mean to say?

Wait, you think I wasn’t being entirely tongue in cheek, just like that section of the blog post? I’d hoped the wink would give it away.

I’m not a dev, but a friend of mine who is has worked with an earlier version Frostbite engine. Apparently it’s overwrought and ridiculously complex for what it needs to do, nor was it that well optimised. From his explanation, I’m not surprised that a mobile split is necessary, or that it has problems with the Wii U.

It’s an M4P file (so with FairPlay). I’d suggest that it may expire once the full album is out and they are no longer allowing the full album to be streamed.
I’ve listened to the whole thing now. Dare I say it, it’s… overrated? It’s an okay album, but I guess I just don’t understand why everyone is acting as if this is an earth shattering thing. It’s smooth and sounds nice, but it doesn’t set my world on fire.

Why are they still talking? SimCity the current incarnation has fallen in a heap due to the numerous launch bugs, server issues and so on. They should learn from this and go make a SimCity game worthy of its pedigree.
Or buy Cities XL, fix its myriad performance issues and rerelease it. Such wasted potential that one, limited by single threaded woes and lots of crashing and late-game balance issues and an amateurish UI. But it had the most potential to be a spiritual successor.

The characters look good, but I reckon the capture technology behind LA Noire felt more believably “real” than this. It’s good… but maybe the technology needs to get better.

Although the licensing for Monotype’s Arial was certainly believed to be much less than that of Linotype’s Helvetica, Arial MT predates Windows 1.0 by about three years – it wasn’t made for Microsoft specifically :)
And yes, I think Arial is a shoddy knock-off of Helvetica, trying to bridge the gap between Monotype’s Grotesque and the proportions and stylings of Helvetica without just being another “Helvetica-like” which were so prevalent in the 70s and early 80s.
