No, Android should seamlessly become more ‘WebOS-y.’ Maintain all the relationships, maintain legacy app compliance, and transition to something better.

I’ll be looking forward to the Open WebOS update for the TouchPad.
BTW, how did you get your paws on a Pre3? How do you like it?

No, it ain’t the same. The responsiveness just isn’t there in the same way it was with WebOS.

Here’s hoping THQ stays afloat long enough for Relic to release Company of Heroes 2, and that it makes them a pretty penny. So glad to see them NOT sink all their dev money into yet another wrestling game.

Fascinating. Though I was looking forward to watching it fire, his explanation of how he built it was even more interesting. Materials science FTW.

That’s a pretty cynical take on business. Business, fundamentally, is about trust. You trust your vendor, you trust your supplier, and you must trust your client. If you cannot do these things, business cannot happen.
Yahoo’s response will be telling, particularly in light of the heavy restructuring.

Actually, you would be surprised at how many people are willing to spend a large amount of their income for a mobile phone. There are subsistence farmers in Africa who living in $5/day who have phones.
DPRK’s reason for lagging in mobile phones isn’t poverty, it’s politics.

Even 60fps is an artifact of old monitors that were generally 60Hz refresh rate. Still, there will be an adjustment period between 24fps and 48fps.
(fyi, studios generally stuck to 24fps even when it was technologically possible to go higher because of film costs. Now that it’s all digital, this argument goes away.)

Exactly this. I’ve hated watching action movies in the theater, particularly close up, because you almost can’t tell what’s going on with the slow framerate. I also hate motion interpolation on some modern TVs, it’s nauseating and looks like cheap video tape.
However, an entire feature shot at a higher framerate has me intrigued, particularly something that’s likely to be good as the hobbit.
