It is built into the ICS browser and is something you have to activate. It’s hidden in settings menu under the Labs area.

Good choice. Forgot to mention it but that would have been my choice too between all of those.

Not sure what you are planning on shooting with your macro lens but I would do either the 90 or 100 myself for the extra working distance if I were to chose only one. 90-100 also makes a nice portrait lens. With a ~60mm macro lens you will normally have to have your lens just a few inches away from your subject to get 1:1 reproduction. With the 90-100 you are more in the ~12 inch range. Doesn’t sound like a lot but makes a big difference on skittish subjects like insects. But like I said it depends on the subject. For flowers and indoor studio type stuff I actually prefer a 60mm. Much easier to keep your eye in the viewfinder and manipulate (or hold it still in a breeze) the object while capturing your images with a 55-60mm macro.

Of course the SGS3 is going to sell way more phones. They will have variants on every carrier. Not so with the One series.

After throwing a TPU case on the One S it feels very similar in size to the Sensation Sans case. One really nice thing about the Sensation that you never hear people talk about much is the way the battery cover on the Sensation completely wraps around the phone, all 4 corners are integrated into the battery cover. So if your outer case gets scratched up and as long as you don’t have any imperfections on the screen you can just get a new battery cover and your phone literally looks brand new. One bad thing about that design is if ou are OCD like me dust seems to migrate between the battery cover and the rest of the phone. You can “see” the dust in the cracks since it stands out well against the black aluminum/plastic and I would often pop the battery cover off just to clean the dust off from around the case.

Having used virtual buttons I prefer the good old fashioned hardware buttons. Virtual buttons make more sense on a tablet but on the phone I prefer the hardware buttons myself.

I have both. One S honestly doesn’t feel like much of an upgrade (as fart as speed and software) compared to a Sensation running ICS (mine is rooted and S-Off so I could run custom ICS roms). With a custom ICS ROM on the Sensation day to day operation UI smoothness is on par with the One S. Every day use battery life on the One S is I’d say about 30% better. It does feel cooler when running games. I do like the One S’s screen a little better than the Sensation’s because of black levels, colors, and viewing angles, though as far as sharpness is concerned I think the Sensation looks a good bit sharper than the One S to my eyes. But the One S feels heads and shoulders better than the Sensation in the feel department. I really like the feel of the Sensation, it feels much thinner in your hand than the specs suggest. But the One S feels so much better. Now I would say keep your money if you already have a Sensation but if you are choosing between the two get the One S no brainer for me IMHO. I do admit I miss the SD card a little but but non-removable battery has been a non-issue for me with the great battery life.

Depends on if the Apps are framework dependent like a lot of the Sense apps and widget. Something tells me they probably added their own “stuff” in the frame work because you don’t want your selling point to be easily ripped into an APK anyone can install on any phone.

As far as having the location information on the weather widget I find it highly useful but I’m one who travels quite a bit for a living and it quickly lets me know if it updated the weather information to the local forecast or the city I last visited. And as someone who travels quite a bit it is nice to be able to just tap the widget and bring up the weather app that lets me quickly scan through other cities. The HTC Sense version of the weather clock is quite nice in that it gives you an hourly forecast as well… which is really helpful for me as a golfer trying to squeeze in a round of golf before weather hits.

The Gnexus Ti OMAP 4460 was a year old technology when it was introduced. The PowerVR SGX540 GPU the same GPU found on the original Hummingbird platform.

Is this was a free on contract low end phone I might agree with you but a top of the line flagship phone that is supposed to be the cutting edge of technology, that design is pretty vapid.

I believe Samsung said it was designed for humans. So that leaves all of the various monotremes and marsupials, and nonplacental eutherians if any of those happen to be looking for a phone. Quite discriminatory if you ask me.

The question you have to ask is when Joe Nobody walks into a store and looks at the display of phones which one is going to catch his eye? Outside of the iOS ecosystem Hardware sells plain and simple. IMHO this is where Samsung is going wrong with the S3 and where HTC went wrong with the Sensation series. Nokia has shown that you can sell a “lesser” product if you can produce a very high quality device that looks and feels great and that catches the eye in the store. HTC thought people would buy their phones just on the strength of their software alone even though specs wise it was inferior to the SII, and look where that got them. The biggest and brightest and best displays. The great feel, thin bodies, good materials. Which one is going to wow the customer with the look and feel and get them to pick it up and play with it? Now I haven’t touched the S3 yet but just by looking at the images, it certainly doesn’t pass the eye test compared to the OneX.

The Krait SoC in the OneX absolutly bests the Ti OMAP 4460 in the Nexus by a very wide margin. Cortex a15 and 28um technology compared to older Coretex A9 and 45um technology. You are looking at almost 18 month old processor technology in the Galaxy Nexus. Also the Adreno 225 GPU in is head and shoulders above the quite old by today’s standards Power VR SGX540. The SGX540 came out in late 2007 for goodness sake. It’s still a great GPU though don’t get me wrong but it is no where neat equal to the newer SGX543MP2 and Adreno 225.
Thought I should add that I was refering to the Qualcomm ATT version since I’m in the states and that’s what I will be looking at getting.

They are going to have a hard time convincing people to pick this over a One X when seen side by side in the store.
