It does. I never liked the black background.

Design looks great but it’s very laggy on my mobile devices.
Could you use a Youtube embedded player instead or improve your custom video player. YouTube actually lets you change the design of the embedded player to your own custom CSS.
I was hoping to be able to watch The Vergecast and Top Shelf live on it yesterday but they were nowhere to be seen?

Unless you’re buying from a reputable company or brand, you have to expect this sort of thing.
You could check out the Chromebox or Mac Mini (I know they’re a lot more expensive), but they’re far more flexible than an Apple TV or Roku. You may even be able to control them using a remote mouse app for your Android phone or iPhone.

Safety and security would also be another factor as to whether people take public transport or not.
There can be a lot of drunk and/or aggressive passengers taking buses and trains which would turn me off using them.

I got an MK808 android stick and the only problem I have with it is the Wi-Fi antenna is bad. Maybe I’m just so used to my iPod Touch and Nexus 7 being so far away from the router and still getting good signal.
All of these sticks seem to be made by random Chinese companies so finding support for your specific Android stick is very difficult. It might work on one but not another.

I will not buy an Oyster card because of tracking.
It’s only anonymous tracking, which I presume is used to improve the service.
It’s also a lot more convenient to get one IMO.

People will use public transport if the signage and maps are clear and simple, the pricing structure easy to understand and if it’s quicker and more convenient than walking, cycling or using their own car.
In big cities, public transport is the best option most of the time.
I think the oyster card in London is a great example of making public transport simple to use. You just buy this card, top it up with whatever amount of money and you hold it up to a machine when getting on a bus or tube train. It then deducts the cost of the journey from your card. You don’t need to carry around cash with you or try to pull money out of your pocket every time you want a bus or train.
90% of people I saw getting on buses or trains in London had this oyster card. It meant buses spent less time at stops waiting for passengers to get on and more time getting to where you want to go.

Also, how often do you find you go to a library? You seem unaware how few there are nowadays, and that a lot of poorer people are the ones least able to dedicate large blocks of time to going on field trips
then go to a starbucks, mcdonalds. There are lots of free wifi hotspots, use your imagination. If you really need to use the internet, you’ll find it somewhere. If you really are that poor , the internet should be the last thing on your mind.
Might want to check your privilege a bit and figure out some empathy.
Yeah, i know, i’m very lucky – same as yourself.

Yeah, the internet is a necessity for journalists – for their profession. If you want to be a journalist then you need access to the internet.
This article is about the government giving subsidies for low-income homes to access the internet in their houses, which I don’t think is necessary.
If you are a journalist, it means you have a job, which means you could afford to get the internet if you wanted to, using your own money.
He’s off the internet as an experiment, not because of his principles or income.

I just don’t think the government should be paying to get internet into people’s homes when those people could just go to a public library or wherever and access it there.

Yes. They’re the essentials that you couldn’t survive without. The internet is just a bonus.

As said before, you can go to your local library, train station, school or internet cafe and you can apply for a job using the internet there.
You don’t need the internet directly in your home, so I don’t see why the government would subsidize this?

Food and water are essentials. The internet is not.
If I were to lose my job tomorrow the first thing I’d give up would be TV and Internet. People have been fine without the internet for thousands of years – it’s not “vital to my existence”.

Too bad the iTunes store is almost unusable on my iPod Touch 4G since the iOS 6 update a few months back. Really slow and constantly crashing.
Besides that, the selection on iTunes is great compared to Google Play Music. I’ve searched for several songs on both – Google Play seems to be missing a lot of tracks and artists.
I do wish iTunes and Apple in general would take some features from Google Play though like a web interface where you could manage your music anywhere without having to open iTunes everytime – and of course automatically sync changes with your iOS device. Gotta improve that cloud service.

You have to type in your password before you can make the purchase, so unless your kid knows your password you should be ok.
Windows Store is a mess. All of that horizontal scrolling is annoying. I thought it was good at the start because it was different but the more I use it, it’s just really hard to use.
My prices show up in dollars even though I’m in a euro country. I click on “My Account” to see if I can change anything – no help at all.
I don’t see Metro apps taking off with a store like that. It’s very difficult to browse for new apps compared to Play or the AppStore. You just get a giant horizontal wall of apps and have to try and filter out the crap from the decent.
