Kids are ungrateful, but its getting more understandable with electronics now. You buy a device now your tied to that ecosystem. Ecosystems don’t play nice with each other. So imagine, as a kid, all your buddies get PS4’s and can play online together. You as the sole Xbox owner wouldn’t be able to play with your friends. You’d be justifiably upset.
I wouldn’t let my child be so spoilt but I’d totally understand where such reaction would come from.

By that logic anyone in slightly generic future armour plating would be like star wars.

Surprise, rich people like money too much to give it to the governments.
Nothing will change unless the EU and the US can get together and sign some legally binding trade agreements and laws. And then and only then could there enough impetus for companies to pay their way. Otherwise they’ll just game the system another way.
Make it impossible to do business without paying tax. Do it in enough countries simultaneously to ravage the corps bottom line and boom, paying tax will be the lesser of two evils.

It isn’t surprising that MS have tried this approach, what is surprising is that they’re actually about to do it.
The fact is they are intentionally gimping their next gen console for a large percentage of the worlds population and causing problems for even the chosen few if they have any internet problems.
Plus people see this as an assault on their consumer rights, hopefully the market decides and gives a big old slap to the company that decides to shit on consumers the most.

There’s a problem there though. You can buy much cheaper hardware to get access to your TV shows.
Yes it isn’t as snazzy and isn’t as connected an experience but cost will kill the TV only market, especially if they are still going to charge for live subs on top of everything else.

What I can see is unless MS absolutely nails its E3 they are going to lose the vocal early adopters market.
They can’t afford that, because that market is why the Xbox had a sales lead for so long. My friends didn’t purchase PS3’s because they wanted to play with friends. This will be the same reason why they won’t purchase XBJuans.

The thing is can you see console games adopting a fairer pricing scheme like PC games do?
The answer should be no, they’re going for the cash gouge up front and hope people are too naive to realise the negatives of the system before they buy it and bind themselves to the ecosystem.

They won’t do this, they see lowering the price of new games as lost money. Not as a possible reason to avoid purchase that may over time result in less revenue.

Because PC’s have always had this, it has been one of its major negatives as gaming platform. However standard pricing and also sale pricing evens this out.
Whereas as console gamer, this is seen as taking away a fundamental right to ownership of your own goods. It is also an assault on the ease of use of consoles too, as this now makes taking a game over to a friends house a pain in the ass and also may cause an issue with multiples gamers on one console.

Don’t be so sure about that.
Think about it from this point of view, the rest of the world will pay more for the same console but in the case of the XB1 the TV features are totally neutered outside of the US.
The Playstation won’t lose its most compelling features by being a member of the majority of the worlds population. Plus paying for XB live is another thing to factor in.
It’s not clear cut at all.

Yes the fantastic game of handegg where players spend more time standing around than actually playing the game. Football games have 11 minutes of action.
