That depends on what you think qualifies as fanatical behavior. If someone is pushing their personal religious beliefs on the rest of the population and using it as justification for limiting medical research, they seem pretty zealous – dare I say fanatical – about religion.
Maybe we’re just numb to this religious fanaticism since such a large percentage of the population is a religious fanatic.
