A+ Apple should implement this verbatim.
The only reason I could see Apple NOT doing this, is if they feel that with iCloud “file sharing” between devices is a thing of the past. If they update iOS with a Files.app, and the ability to easily share files through iCloud…then I think the idea of Airdrop for iOS becomes redundant. Think of an Apple-ized version of Dropbox. -

we have the possibility that WWDC is software only
To be honest, I am WAY more excited about iOS 7 than I am about any new Apple hardware right now. Yeah it is cool to see a new iPhone or iPad, but the software is what I interact with on a daily basis. I’m VERY excited for iOS 7, WWDC, and to me this is as big of a deal as the iPhone 5s, or iPad 5. -

I will be excited if they port the iOS version to the desktop so that iCoud changes sync flawlessly. The way it is now is unacceptable. Text usually syncs fine, anything more complex is hit or miss. They NEED to fix this.

Thanks. I never said Jony should be CEO. Also, the overall mood of my post was supposed to be pretty positive. I never said Apple was doomed, I just said it would adress the unlicensed perception that “innovation at Apple died with Steve jobs.” I’m not even suggestion I believe this, but it is unlicensed perception and public perception is important to a consumer company.

Whatabout the fact that notifications do not accurately represent the items they are representing? If I mark a read email as unread, it doesn’t reappear in notification center. I isn’t a 1 to 1 representation of actionable items. I hate that.

Notification center is a disorganized barely-usable mess. It’s a scroll-down menu with a laundry list of items, some that have been stagnating for weeks or more. You can’t actionably respond to anything. You can’t swipe away individual items. If I tap a new email in notification center, it goes away when it takes me to that email…however, if I mark that email as “new,” it doesn’t reappear in notification center.
I HATE notification center. I think it is half-assed at best. I think Apple will greatly improve it in iOS 7, it absolutely needs it.

Wow, I understand where you a going with being "realistic’, but those are some extremely boring suggestions. If iOS 7 is simply a visual refresh with powernap and ability to change default apps I’ll be most disappointed.
I don’t think it is unreasonable to hope that apple adds:
1) expose-like multitasking
2) more glancable information (widgets, or dynamic icons, or something)
3) better inter-app communication (contracts/intents) think Audiobus
4) change default apps
5) multiple-user support
6) wildcard (something we’re not expecting)If Apple does some or most of this, I think that iOS spark and excitement will easily reignite.

One reason to update to iOS 6: when you need to upload a photo to a website, you can actually do it through safari instead of having to download an app and do it that way. That feature ALONE makes iOS 6 worth updating too, and is probably the most underrated feature of iOS 6.

June 10 – Announce and show off iOS7 with “likely” September release date.
June 10- iOS 7 beta 1 released to developers
Late august to Early September – iPhone 5S event
Early September – iPhone 5s ships and iOS 7 released to publicI’ll bet money on this release schedule. I bet iPad 5 is released around October.

My iPad 3 is slow as shit with iOS 6. The app store is painful. I don’t remember it loading so slowly in iOS 5. Just one example.

The OP said NOTHING about Lumia, or Windows Phone 8. Your advice is so irrelevant and kind of annoying. The dude wants a new iPhone. And by the way, you realize like NO ONE owns a windows phone. It might be a wonderful OS, but very few people use it. So jamming it into every post or even every conversation is just unnecessary and kind of annoying.
