All in all Sense 5 is lag-free for me – installing a ROM is not required in my view.

This behaviour was scrapped with ICS for several good reasons. There are some video lessons on this topic, look them up in Google if you are interested.

Well, an experienced Android developer can get things like ABS (and other support libs) running in 30 minutes. The Android support library offers transparent fragment support down to pre-GB (with no additional development effort).
So I think that is not the problem. Often the problem is that the PM decides against the additional development efforts a dedicated tablet UI requires. No matter if you use fragments (and you should use them always!) developing a special tablet UI takes additional time (UX/UI design, implementation and test). And as we live in a tablet world ruled by Apple and PMs who mostly own iDevices only special support for Android tablets often is simply left out.

I have both a One and a N4. Neither is lagging. However the One is generally faster (apps open fast, stock/HTC browser is faster, etc.) – I assume this due its processor.

One thing I miss is an automatic GIF converter. This would make the Zoes a bit more portable – currently they output mp4 which is ok but not so easy to share.

First, you don’t need to worry about pressing the “pause” button (Zoes stop automatically after 3 seconds) and secondly you don’t need to cut the video yourself. You just, point and shoot a couple of times and then the phone already has made a video out of your source material. Then you can choose some kind of “style” similar to Instagram filters (the lines you mentioned) and you are done. :) You’ll love it if you have a family and a job and stuff – it saves a lot of time.

Sense is much more intrusive in usage due to blinkfeed and weird ways of doing things. Touchwiz, while things may look different, pretty much works the same way as stock android
This is not true. Sense 5 is the most nonintrusive skin I know. I even like it better than stock Android. On the other hand TouchWiz is pure crap. They seem to constantly ignore anything that’s recommended in the Android design guidelines.
Blinkfeed is really useful and can be put to the left or right homescreen. If you don’t like it you don’t need to see it the whole life time again. I like it – and I am all against bloatware. Blinkfeed is some kind of lightweight Flipboard. Plus the sources they offer (much to less – granted) will never open in a browser – I hate that. Anything will be openend in Blinkfeed w/o annyoing ads or different layouts.
