I find it easier to do punctuation on Swype than the 4.2.2 keyboard, but the biggest flaw in the 4.2.2 keyboard is that you can’t go back and easily edit words that you have already entered and moved on to the next word. In Swype, I can swipe out a whole sentence and then go back and edit it. When I tap a word, it brings back all of the options that it gave me when I originally typed the word. 4.2.2 doesn’t seem to have this.
I’m confused. Isn’t the Miranda Warning simply a statement of the rights that US citizens are afforded by the 5th and 6th amendments? You have the right to an attorney and the right to remain silent even if the police haven’t told you so. The Miranda Warning is more to cover the police to ensure that the person that they arrested is aware of their rights so that their statements can be used in court. Are the police intending to get him to incriminate himself without his lawyer present?
Don’t get me wrong, this guy is a lowlife who deserves to have the book thrown at him, but not at the expense of our morality. If we pack this guy, who is an American citizen whether we like it or not, off to a secret military trial for what is ultimately a crime committed against the City of Boston, then I think we cede the moral high ground to a degree. I’d like for this ordeal to prove that the US criminal justice system is properly equipped to handle terrorism of this degree.
