I personally wouldn’t mind a show that has only a few select commercials much like many online viewers from the networks.

The networks could then charge more of a premium for those slots.

On a slightly different note, there was a study that I came across that indicated that consumers are still effected by commercials even when fast-forwarding. I imagine skipping would be slightly less effective but probably still measurable. So even on a DVR’d program you would still have some minimal exposure to advertisers.

I don’t think that it is a morally sound claim on the part of the networks but I do understand why they might raisea fuss.
