As the year goes on, I predict this will become more and more pronounced for Paul. Perhaps he’ll get used to not knowing, and will (as he says) become accustomed to it, but at what cost? At what point will he say ‘I need to know this, but there’s no where outside of a huge book. Dang it, I’ll just forget about it’ – this statement applying to everything he could ever want to know?

I’m sort of surprised that software got an 8 because of all the ‘gimmicky’ (using that word carefully) features that have been added. Most of them feel as though they’ll be dropped really quickly. Out of the whole review, I think Vlad only really mentioned the palm down for pausing, and the back-handed swipe for screen-shots, so how memorable/sustainable are they going to be? I wonder whether these ‘features’ will be quickly forgotten, will we see them transfered to other Samsungs?

You’re a terrible person.
Also, just give it time for someone to ask in a forum how to install XP on it, because that’s all they want to use.

I’ve got to say, on a purely asthetic level, the black with white writing is like cool water for my eyes. If you could set this as a filter for all your pages (like a night-mode for reading) I for one would be very appreciative.
My second, and more structured point, is to do with the oversharing that we’re doing, right now. We’re sharing everything, mostly for free, and I wonder just how sustainable that is for us as a society. Perhaps one day, everyone will share so much that there will no longer be an original picture or video to see anymore. Then, will the entire set of subsystems collapse, as people no longer use Instagram to share photos, or Twitter for their thoughts, or Facebook their life stories? What will happen to these companies based solely upon the transcendent whims of customers who have paid nothing for these services, and have therefore no ties holding them in?

As simple as it is, Pipe struggles to find the perfect scenario where you’d want to use it.
The only thing I can think of where people might use this is actually for ‘illegal’ sharing. As you say in the article, if you want to share a video, upload to youtube or vimeo. If it’s a photo you can email it. If you’re emailing someone information anyway, this service can be seen as sort of redundant. I guess if you’re permanantly using Facebook for both business and personal matters this would come in handy, but for most of the denizens of the internet this service is sort of superfluous.
Also, for those not on the internet, there’s always usb transfer, sent through snail mail. Can I get a high five, Paul?

Nova launcher is excellent if you’re interested in a stock look, and it boosted my battery life to TWO days. I don’t think I’ve had a phone last that long in years.

It’s kind of funny, because the version of android 4.0 with sense 3.6 on my (relatively old in mobile terms) Sensation runs multitasking like stock android.

To be fair, Vodafone users got it quicker than O2, because O2 loaded it up with a splash screen animation whenever it reboots (which is ridiculously low frame rate btw), as well as a load of O2 apps.

Imagine if it went right up to 4.9 inches. I realise this would never happen, but all the Apple fanboy’s heads would explode trying to back pedal and say how 4.9 is actually the optimal size and how they predicted Apple would go to this size all along.
