Episodes of 24 were never “an hour long” – it was (afaik) always about 40 minutes that aired riddled with commercials to fill up an hour. Just saying :)
I love the show and I’m excited for new season!

Yes, you can still buy a car. Same as you can still buy a graphics program from another company if you are not satisfied with Adobe’s business model. You aren’t Adobe’s hostage – almost anything can open PSD / AI file formats nowadays. Though I admit that InDesign is probably a slightly different story (not sure if Quark can handle it).
My point wasn’t to make perfect car analogy – they always fail anyway as shown above. My point was – you can still buy a box today. If you want to use current version of CS for next 10 years you still have the perfectly valid option.
But people complaint about next, not yet existant, version. I understand the frustration some people might feel but in fact you have no “right” to upgrades. Next version will be subscription only. You can freely choose to 1) go with it 2) stick with CS6 or 3) switch to alternatives. Your world doesn’t end because company’s business model changed.

I understand what you are saying but things change, that’s life. What if you wanted to buy Ford Model T?
I don’t mean to be sarcastic. But if you want to buy new version of CS as a box in five years, the answer simply is: there’s no such product on the market, you’ll have to choose a different one (or live with the subscription of course). Adobe or any other company isn’t obligated to catter to every need of everyone on the internet. Again, I don’t want to be sarcastic – just saying how it is.

Exactly. I don’t understad “students” or “professionals from poor countries” here complaining about $50/mo subscription while they don’t seem to mind paying $3000 upfront for box version of CC.
People cry about price being $50 a month without realising that for many “a month” is a key part. Ability to pay monthly allows many people to legaly use software they couldn’t afford otherwise. For many (most?) businesses regular monthly payment is much more preferable model than paying huge amount for upgrade every 18 months.

If your CS3 runs fine on any new computer and you are confident that you won’t need any new features then why be upset about subscription model for CS7? It won’t stop your CS3 from functioning.

I don’t hate Facebook. I do hate games clogging up my timeline with meaningless status updates of my friends finishing up a level or reaching a goal in game. Or vice versa “me” spamming my friends just because I spent 5 minutes playing a game while waiting for a bus.
And yes, I know that I can probably turn these notifications off by finding some mysterious setting deep inside Facebook’s UI… indeed a very “productive” excersise in futility, speaking of productive things.

Take the game we like (and already played for thousand times). Don’t change it even a tiny bit but add all creepy stuff we universaly hate. Hope for the best. Sounds like a great way of doing business. What pains me is that it probably will be successful regardless of all that crap.
