They aren’t just not providing an app. They are purposefully blocking a particular platform from accessing APIs that they allow every other platform to access. And that is the dominant online video provider in the world whose API they are blocking from use by one particular platform. There’s clear antitrust issues there.

Microsoft isn’t blocking any APIs from developers on various platforms to create office apps or access Office website or whatever strawman your pushing.

Why are you so emotionally invested in this? If you prefer Google, then use it. Why do you get upset that some prefer Bing?

If you think that releasing to a foreign national 250k classified diplomatic cables that you didn’t even read constitutes “whistleblowing”, then it is you who is missing a few concepts.

Tech bloggers tend to dismiss WP exclusives since they aren’t available on iOS or Android, which means that they are unimportant by definition. There is a huge double standard at work. Any app that appears on iOS but not WP is used as ammo against WP, but the reverse is never allowed by the tech bloggers.

I don’t know if he’s anti-Microsoft or just following The Verge’s standard site policy, which amounts to the same result.
But those concluding that he’s anti-Microsoft aren’t doing it just because he came into this thread to downplay good news, this is just one of a long list of examples of him doing such things.

Every story has potential to be “spun”, in that it can focus on positive or focus on negative. TheVerge almost always chooses to accentuate the negative when it comes to writing about Microsoft, and you are no exception to that policy. You are insulting your readers’ intelligence to claim otherwise, everyone here can read.

I’m surprised The Verge hasn’t written a new article, “HP beats Microsoft” regarding appointing women in high corporate positions. :)
(Of course, HP’s putting Carly Fiorina at CEO was a disaster, but not because she’s a woman, but because she’s an ideologue.)

Wow, there really are people that suck up to tech bloggers. I don’t know if there is anything more sad than that.
I never read winrumors, so I don’t know of Tom ever had a “pro-MS” attitude, but I wouldn’t be surprised that hanging around anti-MS people all day, including his boss, would influence him in the anti-MS direction. His recent “BBC beats Microsoft at whatever” article was embarrassing.

Linux users generally despise Microsoft, despise closed-source software, and despise software that isn’t free (as in gratis), so they have almost zero desire to use MS Office (not for pay anyway; lots of them believe in piracy as a human right, so they might pirate it, but the definitely would not pay for it).
In fact, Linux users generally go around talking about how horrible MS Office is while extoling the virtues of stuff like LibreOffice. So why should Microsoft waste time and resources making a version of MS Office for that crowd? Makes no sense.

“security”? LOL
It’s Google, not Microsoft, that has had their email system hacked multiple times.
