Nothing is as fearful for the US as the truth getting exposed, and everything possible is done to prevent that, or that happening again. After all, killing Manning will be “just” taking one more life in the series of tens of thousands of lifes taken (both from foreigners and from American citizens) in the American war for cheap resources and political power.

Would any sane employer pay – or even allow – their employees to analyze a competitor’s products for vulnerabilities and document said vulnerabilities to such an extent, unless your purpose was to start a smear campaign against your competitor? What else could be such information – and the time and money invested in discovering and gaining it – good for, when it only affects the competitors’ products, but not yours?

Right. And the virus knows that before even infecting the machine, so it doesn’t infect it in the first place. Makes sense. Not.
A virus obviously can not assess what the data might be worth on one’s computer, so that can’t be the reason why he didn’t encounter any infection. (Neither did I btw.)

Much ado over nothing. The majority of people on Earth don’t have English as their native tongue, and in most languages using the latin ABC the letter “G” is always pronounced as (or very similar to) the sound in “GIF”, and very different from “JIF”. So it’s obviously very stupid to push the “GIF is pronounced as JIF” agenda. Because you know, except for the having-English-as-my-native-tongue minority, everyone will call/pronounce it as “GIF” anyway. Although, it’s not really un-American to swim against the tide, just for the sake of it.

Visualize every meteorite that’s KNOWN to have hit the earth over the past 4,500 years. FTFY
It’s pretty obvious that the chance of meteorite sighting and especially the documentation of such events have been raised in the past centuries exponentially, both because of the growing population, and also because of people getting educated, thus actually now being able to recognize what they’ve seen and also write it down or document the event.

What kind of qualities are need to win a Webby Award? I mean, other than popularity (in the sense of “known by masses”) – which if someone has, will most likely mean that they will win more than one award.
I mean, to win on a sports event you have to be objectively and undeniably faster, stronger, etc. than others. But it’s still not clear to me what objectively quantifiable ability, achievement or quality leads to winning a Webby Award.
Until I know that I don’t really know how to interpret these awards, or whether getting not five, but just a single one of them is actually a positive accomplishment.
