To me it makes sense to have the analogs offset. Most of the games now days require you to use both analogs and personally coming from the PS One, PS2, XBOX and XBOX 360 to PS3. I find it uncomfortable having both analogs side to side like the PS controller, when you have to use both of them a the same time.
The problem I have with the 360 controller is really the triggers, for anything other than playing shooters. Playing fighting games and attempting to do a combo that requires you to press a trigger can really throw your timing off.

I don’t know about you but I’m a computer science major. I like to think that if I develop a program or videogame that all that hard work will pay off (monetary wise). I mean I don’t think developers work for free.
That said, I don’t think any of that was mentioned during the event so you’re way off topic babbling about a random rumor.
Even if it’s true, I only see it as a positive for the gaming industry in general. I won’t go into details but you have to realize that the reason why new games cost are rising is because
1. The production cost are rising due to the complexity of new games.
and
2. In order for companies to make a profit and recoup their investment in a game they have to sell more copies.
3. Used game sales cut into their sales, thus making it harder for game makers to recoup their money and make a profit (after all why make a product if you’re not in it for profit?). The only solution is raise new game prices to recoup some of the money not earned from used games sales.
Did you ever think that a possible (though not certain) outcome of limiting second hand game sales might be cheaper new games? Ex. The Vita, it’s not a popular system by any chance but I can already see what direction Sony is going with DRM. If you purchase a game thru the PSN store you pay about $10 less than if you purchase the game new in the store. When you do purchase a physical game though it comes with a online pass code. If you buy the game used you have to purchase the online pass code to play the game for $10 dollars. So you can see the cheaper of the 3 choices is ultimately to download the game. If you download the game you can’t resell it.
You have to be an idiot not to realize that ALL game developers want this. In one way or the other PS4 and XBOX One will both have some kind of DRM. You’re argument is a mute one.

And you and I both know that attempting to keep devices fingerprint free is essentially a pointless pursuit. As there will always be fingerprints for as long as you make use of such device. Thus, given it’s prevalence it shouldn’t even be given a second thought now.

Really, worried about finger prints? I really hope that this level of triviality isn’t used when making other more important decisions.

^^ LOL.. Looking forward to planting a dollar, watering it every day in hopes for a money tree. I doubt Valve’s offering will ever take off.

Quit crying about paying about gold, honestly, I don’t think it’s expensive and I think it’s worth it. If you don’t think it’s worth it don’t pay for it. Essentially you pay $60 a year or if you’re smart and buy on specials about $40 a year for a quality service. I have both the PS3 and the XBOX the PS3 online is free, yes it’s nice but there no VOIP party chats, no quality matchmaking, I have to open like 8 ports on my router just to make sure ONE game plays correctly online vs Two on my XBOX for all the games and I don’t know about you but I have a much “laggier” experience on PS3 online then I do on XBOX. The way I see it I get my money’s worth. If you don’t think it’s worth it, then don’t get it.

It seems like most of these comments are trying hard to find the negatives with this system. I watched the reveal live and I honestly think it’s a killer system. There are those that complain about how games are taking a back seat and all I have to say to that is, Really? Games haven’t taken a back seat they are still there maybe this main feature is a big overclouded by the many other features of this XBOX but hey who ever said more features is a bad thing? Also issues about the hardware, I think this issue was somewhat address in the reveal they stated that the XBOX Live will now provide developers with access to over 300 thousand servers. In turn developers can use these servers to process game environments and create (I forget the word) persistent(?) environments. The EA representative that showcased some games during this live even showed how this can be used. Ex. They use the server processing to fill the stadiums of their sports games with thousands of real, fully animated crowds that can be changed daily.

They never said that.

I don’t know if maybe my eyesight is wrong but this looks almost exactly like the current XBOX controller. The only differences I see are actually improvements. The Guide button is higher preventing accidental pressing it (by those of us with big hands), the triggers are feedback responsive now and the crappy battery packs are gone. The rest looks the same with minor changes to the way the actual thumb sticks/buttons look. It seems about the same size, I base that (I saw the reveal live) on the relative size of the man holding the controller.
Honestly there is no negatives, at least to me, with this controller. Those with negative comments are honestly grasping at straws here.

When the hell did anyone “conquer” the earth with internet?! As far as I know most people in the US don’t even have a decent internet connection or any internet at all. Seriously, as we struggle to connect remote areas of the earth to the net this guys wants to connect other planets. Clearly, someone is smoking something.. Tell me what it is because it must be some good shit.

I read this whole article and all the comments and I don’t get it. Let me check the DSM to see if that’s a symptom for a mental disorder… Hmm.. I do have ADD but it seems I might also suffer from depression, anxiety and.. Oh wait nm those are ADD related symptoms also.. :/
